I don't know how much running I'll be doing in the next 60 weeks (still rehabbing!), but I do know whether I'm running, walking, biking, hiking, swimming, or just sitting around, I remain tremendously grateful for my (almost) 60 years. Most importantly, I am grateful for the roots and wings I received from my humble beginnings at Mercy Convent in Ballinasloe, County Galway, and then "winning the parent lottery" in my adoption.

My desire to give-back led me to a career in the non-profit sector almost 30 years ago, and now here at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, I continue to focus on helping people support children in crisis.  If you, like me, received love and guidance from caring adults in a supportive home and understand how that shaped your success as an adult, you can understand what Mercy Home does for the children in our care. 

My goal as I count down 60 weeks to my 60th Birthday is to raise $6000 (just a $100 a week!) to support the children of Mercy Home.  Will you consider sponsoring a week, or part of a week?
